We bring southern Europe's depopulating heritage villages back to life. Guests live inside the village, not beside it.
Villages are disappearing across southern Europe. We see something else.
Thousands of heritage villages are depopulating. Their architecture is crumbling, their culture fading. Conventional tourism ignores them. Traditional hospitality cannot reach them.
Alta Sera acquires clusters of abandoned heritage properties, restores them to premium standard and operates them as a single distributed destination. No resort walls. No hotel lobby. Village life, elevated.

High in the mountains of central Sardinia, Seulo sits within one of the world's five Blue Zones, regions where people live measurably longer. Extraordinary stone architecture. Ancient forests. A municipality that actively welcomes restoration.
Nineteen buildings in the village are identified and available. Eighteen become guest homes, from intimate one-bedroom houses to eight-bedroom farmhouses. The nineteenth sits at the centre and holds the spa, the restaurant and the welcome.
Seulo has held the record for more centenarians per head than any municipality on earth.
Sardinia is one of only five Blue Zones in the world, with the highest concentration of centenarians anywhere. This is not a marketing line. It is validated demographic science and it is the foundation of everything we build here.
People have been living in this valley for six thousand years. Durham University dated human remains in a cave above the village to 4269 BC, laid beside Neolithic paintings of a horned figure carrying a bow. The same valley, the same water, the same thin air at nine hundred metres.
Food, movement, altitude, community. A hospitality experience rooted in one of the healthiest places on earth.

Ancient forests, hidden waterfalls and mountain trails, all of it straight from your front door rather than a shuttle ride away.
Farm-to-table dining rooted in one of the world's healthiest culinary traditions, cooked by the people who grew it.
A spa and wellness programme drawn from the daily habits of Sardinia's centenarians rather than imported from elsewhere.
Centuries-old stone houses, restored with restraint. History you can touch, and a village that is still lived in.

Guests stay in restored heritage homes spread through the village. A central hub holds the spa, the restaurant and the welcome, but the experience stays decentralised and the village stays a village.
We work in partnership with the municipality, not around it. Restoration creates local employment, brings families back and puts empty buildings into use. Prove it in Seulo, then repeat it: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece.
